There are very few fly fishers who fish every week of the year (52) for Stripers in Nor Cal.

I don't know if it is even a good idea but we have three of these "Striper commandos" working at our fly shop.

Jim Christensen, Joe Shirshac and Andy Guibord fly fish for Stripers 52 weeks of the year.

Right now they are still on the Delta even in 42 degree water.

February and March they will be on the lower Feather River. They might be checking out the mouth of the American River then too.

April/May is the time to be up around Colusa on the Sacramento River for the big Spring spawning run.

April through September they will be on the lower American River.

October through March they will be on the Delta.

If you really want to learn something about the Striper fishing in Nor Cal you might want to come BS with them at the shop.

They know exactly what tackle and flies to use besides all the places and timings as well.

Andy works Thursday through Monday (off Tues/Wed)

Joe works on Saturdays

Jim works Tues/Wed.

We all fish Stripers at the shop a bit but not like these characters.
